SABRINA'S STORY

Age 9
First Time on Court

Sabrina Sobhy was born in Sea Cliff (Long Island), New York. She first stepped on a squash court at age nine, turning family games into a lifelong passion.

Guided by her father and coach, Khaled Sobhy, and inspired by her mother Jodie Larson, and older siblings — Omar (left) and Amanda (middle) — squash became part of the family fabric: a bridge between their American and Egyptian roots and a shared love of the game.

2017
Record-breaking Achievement

At just 17, Sabrina became the youngest player ever to win both the U.S. Junior and Senior National Titles

in the same year, a milestone that marked her arrival on the national stage.

"That year showed me what was possible when preparation met opportunity."

2015-2019
Four Years, Four Titles

As Harvard's number one player for all four years, Sabrina (3rd from left) led her team to four consecutive national championships while pursuing her degree in psychology. The discipline required to excel in both arenas shaped her approach to everything that followed.

"Harvard taught me that excellence in one area fuels excellence in another."

Representing Team USA in Lima, Peru, Sabrina brought home two gold medals at the Pan American Games. Competing for her country, along with her sister, Amanda (left), added new meaning to every point won and lost.

"Wearing USA across my chest reminded me that I was playing for something larger than myself."

2023
World #13

Reaching a career-high Professional Squash Association (PSA) ranking of World No. 13 in September 2023 represented years of dedication, sacrifice, and growth. It was validation that the work was paying off.

"Rankings tell one story. The real story is in the hours no one sees."

2024-2025
Resilience & Return

In September 2023, a wrist injury requiring surgery in late 2024 tested Sabrina in ways competition never had. The months of rehabilitation taught patience, humility, and the importance of the support system around her.

By June 2025, she returned to compete at the U.S. National Championships, ready to build toward the 2026 season.

"The injury didn't stop my journey. It redirected it toward something stronger."
